Jazz FM is an exciting and progressive commercial radio station that has an exciting opening at the centre of our sales operations. We are one of the UK’s most well-known broadcasting brands having been part of the radio landscape for over 27 years. Now a digital radio station with 1,000,000 listeners tuning in every month. We are fiercely independent which allows us to constantly evolve and think about things differently and innovatively, but still have a family outlook of pride and excitement in what we do.
We broadcast the world’s greatest jazz, soul and blues from the world’s greatest artists across the UK via DAB, online and digital TV. We are the home of the world famous Jazz FM Awards and we co-created the highly acclaimed Love Supreme Jazz Festival, which we are still a part of.
Right now, we are looking for a passionate, hard-working and organised Sales Administrator to work alongside our Sales & Partnerships team over at our London studios, in the centre of the West End. We’ll need you to provide the administrative backbone to not only assist them to generate revenue and new business leads, but also respond to client requests and queries. Central to this role is outstanding attention to detail.
You will absolutely need to be...
A Project Manager – There is a requirement to project manage sponsorship, promotional and airtime administration to the nth degree - from the planning process, and to ensure that all campaign requirements are sourced from the client or agency on any given project.
Not shy, quiet and retiring – You will talk to all kinds of people. Internally, you will work closely with all departments and team members including Directors, the content team, presenters plus your colleagues in the department, but also you will talk to clients from both agency and direct backgrounds. You won’t be scared of difficult conversations and will understand the differing approaches to engagement required to get what you require from them.
Quick on the uptake – We run at a million miles an hour. You need to also! Initiative is imperative.
Digitally aware and an expert with systems - As with all technologically advanced companies, we are heavily reliant on IT systems and although you would be trained on specialist software, you would need to be computer literate and a fast learner and understand how to manipulate these tools to get what is needed. That said, although not essential, a knowledge of RACE /JET would be an advantage.
A hard working ambassador – You will constantly be required to work above and beyond, and due to the nature of our business, the hard work is paid off with opportunities to enjoy the world of music in which we live. You don’t need to know our music, but you shouldn’t be shy of it!
Numerically aware – obviously…
To be considered for this position you must have previous administration / support experience, ideally within a busy office environment. You should have at least A level or equivalent qualifications, good writing skills and be able to work under pressure and prioritise accordingly.
