Multi-media journalist – Anglian Radio (Dream 100.2, Town 102, The Beach, Radio Norwich, & North Norfolk Radio)
What’s the job?
This is an exciting opportunity ideally suited to someone looking for the next step up in their journalism career. You’ll have the opportunity to put your multi-media training and early experience into practice in a busy regional newsroom. Preferably you’ll have a year or two of professional experience, but if you’re a graduate with confidence we’d also like to hear from you.
What will I have to do?
Duties will include supporting the output editors by sourcing & writing local radio news stories, compiling bulletins, reading, recording & despatching bulletins (as required), preparing social media messages, monitoring opposition media, newsgathering (reporting) and writing & preparing online material.
What do I need for this job?
Essentially, a journalism qualification, clean driving licence, ability to write conversational English, a good broadcasting voice, and strong knowledge of social media and online journalism. You’ll have an awareness of OFCOM regulations and media law. You’ll be passionate about news and information, and a hard worker.
A ‘can-do attitude’ is a must, a love of communication, interest in local and community news, creativity, an inquiring mind, respectful personality, and good contact building skills.
Where could I be working?
The opportunity is in our Norwich newsroom – but you might be expected to cover in Ipswich on occasions.
