BBC Coventry and Warwickshire is the personality and speech driven station at the heart of one of the most exciting and talked about places in the country right now.
Home to more than 300,000 people Coventry is a young, dynamic and diverse city gearing up to be UK City of Culture 2021. Our station serves this incredible place and the surrounding historic rural towns and villages of Warwickshire.
There’s a big editorial agenda in our area including HS2, City of Culture 2021, the home of the UK motor industry and electric vehicle technology and the Commonwealth Games 2022.
We require an exceptional and ambitious Editor in the making to join the management team and help run a great station with very experienced and talented teams.
You’ll build and deliver the strategy with the Editor as well as working hands on leading programmes, news and digital.
The current editor also has responsibility for development across the local radio network so as Assistant Editor you’ll often need to step up. It’s crucial you possess the skills, confidence and experience to seamlessly take the reins and lead the station from time to time.
The Ideal Candidate
Firstly, you’ll be a hands-on doer and passionate about making radio, possessing the people skills and significant programming and production experience to get the most from our personality presenters and on air teams.
You’ll be a proven and inspirational editorial leader with great judgment. We also need you to think about how we can attract new, hard to reach audiences, so we expect you to have exciting ideas about how we can better use social media and some impressive project management experience.

You are eligible to apply for this role if you are either on a BBC Continuing (Permanent) contract or a BBC Fixed Term contract.
